FIRST Tech Challenge Kickoff
The Start of the Season & the Power of Community
Teams come together to reveal the game, explore the field, and launch the season as a community.
The FIRST Tech Challenge (FTC) season launches worldwide in early September with the annual Kickoff event. On Kickoff Day, the new game is revealed and FIRST releases the Competition Manual, Game & Season Materials, rulebook, and field-element details—everything teams need to start designing their robots.
Local Kickoff gatherings often add breakout sessions, networking, and hands-on time with the game field so teams can swap ideas and dive into the season together.
