2026 State Championship Invitations & Acceptance Timeframe

The FIRST Wisconsin State Championship presented by GE HealthCare will take place Friday, April 17th through Sunday, April 19th.

The top 36 teams in Wisconsin, ranked based on the number of district points earned across their two events, will be invited to compete at the event.

With 3/4 of our District Events behind us here's how the data is shaking out:

  • 823 points remain in the District

  • 34 teams will attend WILAX, the fourth and final District Event for Wisconsin

  • State Championship has 36 available spots

  • There's one Impact Award remaining in the state

  • 14 teams have already clinched a spot to the Wisconsin State Championship (Three Teams via Impact & 11 teams via points)

Wisconsin still has events taking place, how are teams getting invited to State?

It's all about District Points!

Based on the number of points available in the state, Impact Award Teams, the number of teams attending this last event, and the number of State Championship spots available you can calculate who is mathematically locked into their State Championship ahead of our final district event.

Which 14 teams have already clinched their spot to State?

At the conclusion of the WIN District Mukwonago Event presented by Regal Rexnord, the following teams "locked-in" their spot at the Wisconsin State Championship:

  • 3 Impact Award Teams

    • FRC 537 (WIMUK)

    • FRC 1259 (WIAPP)

    • FRC 6381 (WIPLY)

  • FRC 1306 (With 146 points, they're the first team in the district and were first to clinch their spot, immediately after their second play at WIAPP)

  • FRC 1732 (With 145 points, they're the second ranked team in the state and clinched their spot after their second play at WIMUK)

  • FRC 1714 (130 points)

  • FRC 3197 (94 points)

  • FRC 4786 (92 points)

  • FRC 7915 (91 points)

  • FRC 2062 (84 points)

  • FRC 2202 (80 points)

  • FRC 93 (78 points)

  • FRC 6421 (74 points)

  • FRC 2194 (AND FINALLY, the only team with one play under their belt who clinched their spot to the State Championship, with 70 points)

What can FIRST Wisconsin do with this information?

FIRST HQ allows us to use FRCLocks.com to extend invitations to teams for them to accept or decline their spot at the FRC State Championship BEFORE the end of the last event.

On Monday, March 30th at 7:00am we requested the non-Impact teams be extended invitations to attend the State Championship. By 7:00pm the same day, FIRST systems were being updated to reflect that the invitations were going out.

You can track the list of attending teams via the FIRST Inspires event page, at FRC-Events under WICMP, or via The Blue Alliance.

How and when do teams receive an invitation to the State Championship?

FIRST Inspires will send you an email letting you know you qualified for the 2026 FIRST Wisconsin State Championship presented by GE HealthCare.

The email explains the timeframe you have to accept the invitation to the State Championship (anywhere from 72 to 48 hours). Communicate with FIRST HQ regarding planning.

Registration for the State Championship is $4,000.
