In November 2024, FIRST announced the introduction of the new Mobile Robot Controller, which will replace Robo Rio in the FIRST Robotics Competition (FRC). This controller will be implemented in FRC starting in the 2027 season and in the FIRST Tech Challenge (FTC) starting in the 2027-28 season. Alpha testing for the new SystemCore robot controller has commenced, and we are pleased to announce that Lakeshore FIRST Robotics and Brown County FIRST Robotics have been selected to participate in this testing phase for both FRC and FTC. Teams 1716, 3381, 4531, 5586, 7103, 7619, and 9578 will evaluate the new controller and provide feedback to FIRST regarding its performance. We eagerly anticipate receiving reports from the Lakeshore teams on this innovative technology.
