Meet our FTC Program Manager!

FIRST Wisconsin is delighted to announce the appointment of Trevor Carter as the FTC Program Manager for our region.

With a remarkable 15-year journey in the FIRST Tech Challenge community in Wisconsin, Trevor Carter has undeniably become a cornerstone of our state's involvement. His presence has graced numerous FIRST events, and he is easily recognizable, often found diligently managing the scoring table as an FTA at nearly every FTC event held in the state. A dedicated program alumnus, Trevor's invaluable contributions extend beyond state borders, having volunteered at well over 100 FIRST events spanning all three program levels across multiple states.

Assuming the role of FTC Program Manager, Trevor will emerge as the primary liaison between our vibrant FIRST Tech Challenge community and the global FIRST organization, advocating for our local teams within the broader network of FIRST Program Delivery Organizations (PDO's). In this part-time capacity, Trevor's efforts will be significantly directed towards fortifying event infrastructure and cultivating an expansive FTC volunteer network, all while upholding the FIRST ethos and quality of experience.

Trevor's personal journey began in Hortonville, where he was an integral member of FTC Team 217, the Kinetic Polar Bears. His academic pursuits led him to UW-Platteville, culminating in a Bachelor of Science degree in Software Engineering. Post-graduation, Trevor carved a path as a Control Engineer, contributing his skills to diverse companies in the Madison, WI area.

This direct application of FIRST experience and a strong attribution of particular skills, makes Trevor an ideal person for the role of FIRST Tech Challenge Program Manager. His belief's align strongly with the goals of FIRST Wisconsin, as explained by Trevor, "I believe that everyone has a place in the program and that we should create a welcoming and inclusive space, while providing opportunities to strengthen our community".

We are looking forward to the valuable contributions Trevor will make in cultivating and amplifying the FTC community in Wisconsin!
