This archaeology-inspired theme is part of the larger FIRST® AGE™ season presented by Qualcomm, inviting young innovators in elementary and middle school to explore the past, uncover hidden stories, and use STEM to envision a brighter future.

Teams will be tasked with building and coding autonomous LEGO Education robots to complete a series of archaeology-themed missions on a competition mat, emulating real-world challenges faced by archaeologists. This season will also involve research projects where teams will delve into the stories held within artifacts and develop innovative solutions for the future, exploring the role STEM skills play in archaeology and uncovering how societies and technology progress through the ages.

"The UNEARTHED™ season encourages young people to not only learn about history but also to think critically about how the past can inform our future," says Renee Becker-Blau, President of FIRST Wisconsin. "Through hands-on robotics, innovative projects, and collaboration, FIRST® LEGO® League teams will gain valuable STEM skills and develop solutions that can positively impact their communities in Wisconsin and around the world."

The FIRST® AGE™ season continues to expand FIRST's mission to inspire the next generation of innovators. FIRST® Tech Challenge (ages 12-18) will launch its DECODE™ season presented by RTX on September 6, 2025, challenging teams to investigate artifacts and unlock mysteries.

FIRST® Robotics Competition (ages 14-18) will follow with its REBUILT™ season presented by Haas, launching on January 10, 2026, where teams will use their engineering skills to reimagine the past.
