The FIRST WI Youth Advisory Council (YAC) is a group of passionate student leaders from across the state working to amplify student voices in FIRST and robotics. As representatives of teams, both FTC and FRC, from everywhere in Wisconsin we collaborate to expand access to FIRST, create resources for teams and strengthen the community that makes FIRST more than robots. Some of our accomplishments include starting the Production Hub, organizing Advocacy Day, implementing Quiet Rooms at tournaments, and starting a Podcast.

The YAC is broken up into five committees: Advocacy, Education, FIRST for Everyone, Growth and Sustainability, Strategic Planning. Some of the initiatives we want to work on this year include

expanding the Production Hub, making Advocacy Day more accessible, starting FIRST alumni networks at UW-system schools, running more educational workshops, finishing the FIRST WI Strategic Plan, and making tournaments more accessible and inclusive.

Overall, we ensure that the student perspective helps shape the future of FIRST in Wisconsin.
